If you have not had the chance to see the gingerbread houses and Christmas trees at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC yet, I highly recommend it. My wife and I brought our boys with us, and it was a great time for the whole family. The boys enjoyed looking at all the lights, and all of the people. The Shops at Emporium 1913 were serving Starbucks’s White Hot Chocolate, it was the perfect beverage for walking around this historic site decked out for the holidays. Parking was $10 for the day in the hotel parking garage, which for an affordable family activity on Christmas, we felt was quite reasonable. It had been a few years since we had been to the Grove Park Inn, they had recently opened Edison, an indoor/outdoor high-end “sports bar/lounge”, definitely need to check this place out on a parents-only summer evening.
